Public Adjusters in Miami-Dade County

Wind and Hurricane Damage to Shingle Roof

What Makes Miami's Insurance Problems Unique?

Your insurance policy is a contract between you and the company. When the insurance company underpays you or denies your claim without just cause, it could be a violation of that contract. Unfortunately, running a lawyer all the way through the court system could cost tens of thousands of dollars, maybe more than your whole claim is worth. Interestingly, the insurance company doesn’t want to go through the court system, either. Instead, they follow the contract, but sometimes underestimate the actual damages.

This comes to a head with unscrupulous roofing contractors who go door-to-door looking for customers who want to get their insurance companies to replace their roofs. The vast majority of these claims are legitimate, but carriers get swamped with such a large influx of valid claims. How do insurance companies avoid getting sued while also paying as few of these roofers' claims as possible?

The answer is to lobby the state legislature to outlaw assignment of benefits agreements (AOB). This change made it impossible for roofers to legally file claims on behalf of policyholders. This hasn't stopped some roofers from trying, and nothing's been done to curb other forms of predatory behavior from direction-to-pay (DTP) roofing companies.

Storms are a major cause of property damage in Miami-Dade County, but they aren’t the only ones. Water damage and flash flooding can destroy coastal homes, and lightning strikes surprisingly often in more rural areas of the county.

The lynchpin in the insurance company’s efforts to minimize its expenses and its obligations is the insurance adjuster. A company adjuster is trained to assess damages and then determine the cost of any repairs on behalf of the carrier. These insurance adjusters are employed or contracted by the insurance companies, giving them an inherent conflict of interest.

The key to fighting back against denied, delayed, and underpaid insurance claims is to get an unbiased second opinion. You wouldn’t undertake complex medical treatment without a second opinion, so why would you blindly accept results from a company-paid insurance adjuster?

WE'RE YOUR MIAMI PUBLIC ADJUSTERS

Property Insurance Policy and Declarations Page

Our public adjusters and claims specialists in Miami-Dade County are here to provide that unbiased second opinion. Our team can provide accurate damage evaluations and appraisals for your property and represent you on your insurance claim to maximize your settlement.

The words "public adjuster" may give you the wrong idea. Public adjusters are not employed by insurance companies. Instead, public adjusters are hired by homeowners, business owners, landlords, tenants, HOAs, and property managers..

Our public adjusters in Miami work for you, just like the insurance company’s adjuster works for them. Instead of looking for reasons to deny, or authorize low payments, a public adjuster will find the reason your claim has merit and deserves fair payment. What’s more, our public adjusters can negotiate insurance claims with the carrier on your behalf so you don't have to.

We also aren't door-to-door roofing contractors trying to drum up business and flood insurance carriers with roof claims. Attorneys and licensed public adjusters are the only people legally permitted to represent you on insurance claims. If a roofer states that they can get you a new roof from your carrier, remember that they aren't public adjusters so that you don't run afoul of Florida's AOB ban; only hire a licensed and bonded public adjusting team like ours.
